Due to the nature of the Ozark terrain, people, communities, businesses and churches tend to group or divide depending on valleys and hills, often ignoring county boundaries for usually county-based associations. As a result, the Barry County Southern Baptist Association has several churches that are in other counties, simply because it is easier for them (terrain-wise) to associate with the other Barry County churches than with those of their own county.

Such is the case with Carr Lane, which is .6 miles east of the county line in Stone County. This church is about 1 mile west of the intersection of MO-86 and MO-39, which bears the name Carr Lane, an unincorporated settlement that has a single gas station and a couple of houses; and which is served by the Eagle Rock post office.
