First Baptist Church - Golden, MO - Baptist Churches on Waymarking.com

First Baptist Church of Golden is affiliated with the Barry County Southern Baptist association and has its own simple web page. The booklet 100 years of the Barry County [Southern] Baptist Association (1883-1983) by Pauline Cox, mentions this church as far back as 1905.

The name Golden comes from the unincorporated community nearby. Apparently the center of the community was, at one time, near where the church is; there is even an abandoned school opposite it. But when Missouri route 86 came through a mile south, the old part of town pretty much disappeared. There are a few businesses in the newer part, as well as a post office that serves several small unincorporated settlements (all using the Golden name).
