A beautiful sandy beach right on the main highway through Opononi. It offers great swimming, great sand and a spectacular view of the North Head sand dune across Hakianga Harbour.
We didn't go in the water but the sand was perfect for digging and burying. Others were just soaking in the sun. There is plenty of parking across State Highway 12 at the i-Site, which also offers picnic tables, toilets, tourism information, souvenirs and a gallery of work by local artists and artisans.
