These word are from Mark Twain's eulogy to his daughter Olivia Susan Clemens and are also engraved on her gravestone. The lines were adapted from a poem entitled "Annette" written by Australian poet Robert Richardson. The lines are often attributed to Twain and when he became aware of this he had the poet's name added to the bottom of her headstone.
