On the 2nd anniversary of the 9/11 attacks a Cassia Fiscula tree was planted in honor of the Americans who died in the 9/11 attacks in the United States by the staff of the U.S. Embassy to Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean in Barbados. The Cassia Fistula, also known as the golden shower tree, is a flowering tree native to southern Asia.

An engraved stone plaque set into a rectangular base is inscribed:

Planted by the Barbadian staff of the
U.S. Embassy to Barbados
and the Eastern Caribbean
to honor those Americans who lost
who lost their lives and loved ones
in the September 11, 2001 attacks
