The Royal Opera House Muscat is the leading Musical Arts and Culture complex in the Sultanate of Oman. It is located in Shati Al-Qurm district of Muscat and was officially opened on October 12, 2011.
Built on the royal orders of Sultan Qaboos of Oman in 2001, the Opera House is based on contemporary Omani architecture and can accommodate up to 1,100 people. It includes a concert theatre, an auditorium, a cultural market and an art center for musical, theatrical and operatic productions. The entire complex is flanked by landscaped gardens showcasing a diverse variety of flora.
Initially called the 'House of Musical Arts', the Royal Opera House showcases diverse artistic creations from Oman, the region, and the world.
