As part of the centenary of the State of Western Australia, in 1929, a line of trees were planted at the main entrance to King's Park. This is a large park and recreation facility to the immediate west of the city centre. The trees were planted with commemorative plaques, each listing a member of the Centenary Committee.

This plaque is dedicated to General Sir Talbot Hobbs K.C.M.G. and is dated to the 29th of September, 1929. The plaques are placed at the base of each tree. Entry to the Park is free.
