Heavy decorative gate which blocks the old road at the Badlands Rock Trailhead. The 29,000 acre Oregon Badlands Wilderness was established in 2009 but was a wilderness study area for many years prior to that. With establishment the final roads were closed to public travel, but there are several pieces of private property that are only accessed via this road. The gate provides limited access by property owners only. The gate was donated and the decorative work on the gate seems like a large abstract representations of elements of different types of barb wire..
