The congregation of Városlod decided to build a Calvary already in 1836 after a cholera epidemic but only six station were built in 1859 and the Chapel. With the donations of the locals the 14 stations were completed in 1870. The rapid rusting tin paintings were replaced by oil painted zinc pictures in 1890. In 1971 the worn paintings were replaced by reliefs.
