The McKnight section of Springfield is an older neighborhood that features many beautiful Victorian style homes. Streets are not parallel but criss-cross the area creating many small triangles that are suitable for small parks. In the park bounded by St. James Avenue, Worthington St. and Claredon St. there is one of the most beautiful fountains in the City.

This unheralded gem is unknown to most people in the Springfield area. A 20' diameter basin is set into the ground. In the center of the basin a there is a circular platform supporting a multi-tiered cast iron sculpture. At the base of the sculpture there are a group of griffins supporting a 5' diameter basin. Above a smaller group of griffins then supports a smaller but deeper basin. A stem rises out of this basin to a similar but smaller basin. At the top water pours out of a finial and cascades down through the lower basins until reaching ground level. At the bottom three cast iron Triton figures are each blowing water through a conch shell towards the center sculpture.
