[DE] Haigerer Bürger bauten diesen Aussichtsturm zur Erinnerung an den Tuchkaufmann Eduard Schumacher aus Viersen (1832 - 1880). Schumacher weilte oft in Haiger wegen des guten Klimas, das er wohltuend für seine Gesundheit empfand. Mit einem beachtlichen Geldbetrag legte er den Grundstein zu diesem Turm an der Stelle, deren Aussicht er oft genoß.

[EN] Citizens of Haiger built this tower in memory of the cloth merchant Eduard Schumacher from Viersen (1832 - 1880). Schumacher often stayed in Haiger because of the good climate that he felt was good for his health. With a considerable amount of money, he laid the foundation stone of this tower at the site, whose views he enjoyed often.
