Canada's Aviation Hall of Fame is the on-site partner of the Reynolds - Alberta Museum in Wetaskiwin. The objective of the Hall of Fame is to salute and acknowledge both the people and the aircraft that created aviation history in Canada.
This Laird LC-B-200 was manufactured in 1931 by the E. M. Laird Airraft Company, of Chicago, Illinois. Only eight were built and a maximum of six survive. This is either one of two remaining in Canada or the only one remaining in Canada.
Western Canada Airways of Winnipeg, Manitoba first acquired this airplane to provide airmail service among Winnipeg, Regina, Edmonton, Moose Jaw and Lethbridge. It was purchased from Western Canada Airways in 1943 by Captain John Dart and remained in his possession until acquired for the Hall of Fame in 2005.
