This stone footbridge is probably a C18th replacement of an earlier, similar bridge. It is made of limestone with wide rubble piers approximately 50cm high supporting large limestone slabs. It is one of a series of this early type of bridge found in this area on the old trackways. This one crosses the Lathkill River at the end of Dale Road south of Over Haddon and has had handrails added made out of scaffold tubing. It is Grade II listed.
The river was dry in August 2011 when these photos were taken due to low water level and most of the water from higher up the dale going into underground soughs.
