Originally the First Baptist Church, located further south on MO-86 at SSR-A, was a Southern Baptist Church. But some of the folks went a different direction from the Southern Baptist statement of doctrine in the early 2000s; resulting in a split.
Those who wanted to remain associated with the Southern Baptist Convention started this new church further north on MO-86.
