Whereas,
the Sioux Falls City Commission and the Sioux Falls Chamber of Commerce, in recognition of Joseph J. Foss and his contribution to the progress of aviation in South Dakota and the United States,
Whereas, we pay tribute to his service, sacrifice and honored accomplishments in the military service of his country,
Whereas, we salute his attainments in the field of state government and most especially the honor bestowed upon him by the people when elected governor of the great state of South Dakota
Be it resolved, that in honor and tribute to his great American spirit henceforth the Sioux Falls, South Dakota Municipal Airport shall be known as
Joe Foss Field
