This Cigar Store Indian has been painted with opaque paint and then given a glossy overcoat in some areas. It appears that all defects in the food were filled prior to painting. Only the base on which the Indian stands reveals the true nature of the material used for the carving. It is holding the requisite bunch of cigars in the right hand.
