The International Harvester TD-14A was manufactured from 1949 to 1958. This model was advertised as an "Agricultural Crawler Tractor", as opposed to non agricultural. It was powered by a four cylinder diesel engine of 460.7 ci displacement, producing an advertised 72 hp at the belt and 60.5 at the drawbar. As was the norm, it produced somewhat more. As this was an agricultural model, the blade was not standard equipment.
Though it may have seemed like a good idea at the time, I can say from personal experience that this machine, when used in the field, was a huge dust maker. It churned up more dust than would five wheeled tractors.
This crawler carried a 45 gallon load of fuel and weighed 18,300 pounds. As this was a diesel, it needed and had a 12 volt electrical system. Riding on 16 inch wide tracks, it was 134.1 inches [340 cm] long and 90.3 [229 cm] inches in height.
