Youngstorget Square is the center of Oslo's political movements..and this 1997 monument is on the western edge of the Square. It consists of two pieces. In the backdrop, the visitor sees an obelisk covered tightly by an archway as if in its own alcove. Before the obelisk is a block of granite(?) about two feet high and arching slightly for about 5 feet with a stone from ground zero atop it. It has the follwoing engravings: "Fred - Solidaritet - Rettferdighet" meaning Peace - solidarity - justice. And "Aldri mer Hiroshima" meaning Never again Hiroshima.
