There are two sister city monuments of Istanbul and Shimonoseki partnership (one with view reminding Istanbul and second with pictures of Turkish Garden in Japanese city) in Japanese Garden in Istanbul, which is projected whole as Sister City Monument of one kind. This Garden was built jointly by Istanbul Municipality and Japanese Shimonoseki city council. Opened in 2004, it is situated in Baltalimani. An oasis of tranquillity in the vicinity of busy Bosporus coastal road.
