Arosa is located east of Chur at a height of 1700 to 2800 meters above sea level. It is an internationally well-known winter (and summer) tourist resort. The village has only about 3500 residents but more than 4500 guest beds in hotels and about 8000 in holiday apartments.
The first platter lift was introduced in 1938 and the first aerial lift in 1956.Currently there are 9 aerial lifts and 4 platter lifts serving the skiing zone
The skiing zone is concentrated north and east of the villages center; it has over 70 kilometers of downhill slopes and several sledding and cross-country skiing slopes.
The coordinates are at Tschuggenhütte - a restaurant in the center of the area - the typical meeting point when skiing in Arosa.
