Every Texan knows what lies just east of the I-35 at exit 353: hot, fresh kolaches in all the flavors of the rainbow.
Real Texans cannot drive by the Czech Stop -- we MUST stop. Hungry or not, no trip down I-35 can be made without a kolache.
The Little Czech bakery has been built and expanded many times to keep up with the demand for kolaches from customers at the Czech Stop next door. The same family owns the Czech Stop and the Little Czech Bakery. We decided to waymark them together because they work together and support each other.
Mama Blaster is a traditional girl -- my fave kolache is apricot.
Daddy Blaster is just enough Polish to love the enclosed poppyseed.
Older Sister Blaster loves lemon cream cheese kolaches, and
Younger Sister Blaster always has a raspberry cream cheese kolache.
The Czech Stop sells so many kolaches that the Little Czech Bakery must bake 18 hours a day. New batches of each flavor are required every few hours. They also sell frozen and day old kolaches.
Writing this waymark makes Mama Blaster remember that she has a dozen Czech Stop kolaches in the freezer. Gotta go get 'em now!
