The sign says "Fabulous Food & Friendly Folks." Jan's Beach House Grill has both. It is located on Eastern Boulevard in Montgomery, Alabama. Locals would remember this building as the former Shoney's.

Jan opened this restaurant on September 17, 2012. It is a great restaurant with a nice selection of food for all tastes. The lunch menu features fish items as part of a meat and three style. They also have burgers and sandwiches for those who do not want a seafood meal. The dinner menu has fish to filets. The entire menu can be seen on their web page, but when you go to the restaurant, they also have specials of the day which feature items not on the printed menu.
I belong to a group that enjoys meeting here as the food is good and the staff is friendly. We had been meeting elsewhere, but Jan, who was the manager, left after an ownership change. When she opened her own place, we decided to give it a try. As we expected, we were not disappointed. Regular selections of the group include the seafood gumbo and fish fingers.
There is a main area for eating as well as a room in back where groups can gather. We recently hosted a geocaching dinner in that room. We received several comments on how much everyone enjoyed their meals. We specifically heard rave reviews about the oysters and shrimp dinners.
