If a village wants to retain its post office then it has to combine with another going concern, in this case it's a retail outlet selling everything from newspapers and magazines to frozen food and fruit and veg. Also on the menu are money transfers, national lottery, greetings cards and other stationery, and all the local gossip. Individual adverts are accepted and displayed as well. The full range of usual postal facilities is also available.
It's situated to the north of the main road through Calverley, the A657, Carr Road, and handily, has a Pelican Crossing on the doorstep. There's also a post box in the adjacent wall just outside. The owners want to keep up with the times having installed a set of photo-voltaic panels on the roof.
