The Neues Schloss was the home of the king of Württemberg. It was originally built 1746 - 1807, but it was destroyed in World War II. It was rebuilt 1958 - 1964.
The Schlossplatz is the center plaza in Stuttgart.
The stamp was issued in 2012 by the local post agency 'BW Post' with a denomination of 52 Cent as a christmas special. There are some other stamps of museums of Stuttgart.
