"Justice for All" is a continuing series of 'bench-style' sculptures created by sculptor Madeline Wiener that has been installed on the north side of the newly opened Ralph L. Carr Justice Center in downtown Denver. The piece features a male figure with children and seats with a nearby female figure with children. The pieces are carved from Yule marble - found only in Marble, Colorado, USA.
"I am a stone carver for many reasons. I love the physical and mental challenge of this material. I enjoy making this rugged material vulnerable by approaching it with the most incredible power tools, all of which I am not afraid. Stone is a tool for me to draw with because I see in 3-dimension. I am always seeking to find the most powerful and sensual form and create the most tactile surface. I enjoy bringing the viewer into the sculpture itself, either by relating through personal emotions or by literally providing an opportunity to climb or sit on [within] the form. For me carving stone and exploring its potential is what gives me energy."
