The area that encompasses Dunder Rock and this particular cabin used to be a Boyscout camp for 40 years. It was purchased by the Rideau Waterway Land Trust in 2006 and is now used as a hiking trail with a spectacular view of the Rideau Lakes at the top of Dunder Rock. The cabins were used as overnight facilities for the boyscouts and although fairly spartan, will do if needed for daytime respite or a basic spot for an overnight stop. In any event, it's a spot on the trail most people use as a rest area on the way up top. So if you're in the area, you may want to stop in and check out the spot, it's first come, first served though.
Cheers
