On site is a U. S. Department of Agriculture Forest Service Camera Point. An embedded disk similar to the ones placed by National Geodetic Survey. This disk is embedded with the USDA Forest Service Camera Point identification. These have been used to take photos over a period of time to show any changes in the forest area.

You gain access to the beach by entering the Baldwin Beach recreation area of the Forest Service of Emerald Bay Road on the west side of Lake Tahoe. If you continue northward you will be rewarded with a view of Emerald Bay and waterfalls.

From the 'camera point' you will have an excellent view of the shoreline and mountain range just west of Lake Tahoe

There is an entry fee if you plan on a picnic or sun bathing. However, if you just want to take a quick look, they will usually allow to to do so. Facilities are in working order. Beach is closed in Winter. More detailed information is available from the Web Address below.
