The view from the 1179 meters high top of Skerfe/Skierfe into Rapadalen is the best you can get. Skierfe-Top is about 700 meters high above Rapadalen. Don't miss it if you are in the area!

The top of viewpoint of Skerfe/Skierfe can be reaches by a hike from the small village of Aktse (STF-huts on Kungsleden) or from Sitojaure/Svine. From Aktse it takes at least about 3 or 4 hours one way!
Skerfe or Skierfe is a bigwall if you see it from the Rapaätno or from Aktse. It raises from the Rapavalley 700 meters up. Down in the valley there is a big waste rock pile at Skerfes feet. It's said that some of the big stones there are as huge as houses.
From top of Skerfe you have the very best view into the deep Rapadalen with it's colorful river Rapaätno and the small swamplakes. You get a good view to the huge and long flat-topped mountain Tjakkeli or the small Nammatj in the middle of Rapadalen.
The river Rapaätno is a river which is feed by a lot of little glacierrivers. About 30 glaciers bring their water into this river. So the water is very milky. The river transports about 180000 tons of glacial material per year into the Laitjaure lake.
