Villa Rustica - Wachenheim, Germany - Ancient Roman Civilization on Waymarking.com

Die Villa Rustica wurde 1980 entdeckt und teilweise restauriert. Das Gelände ist heute ein Freilichtmuseum mit 15.000 m2. Gezeigt werden die Grundmauern typischer Haupt- und Nebengebäude eines Langutes, darunter eine römische Heizung. Auf dem Gelände befinden sich Sarkophage eines nahe gelegenen Gräberfeldes.

Discovered in 1980 there are reconstructed parts of a typical Roman rural estate shown, incl. a Roman heating installation. The area is now open to the public as a museum with 161.458 sq ft. There are also sarcophagi shown from a Roman burial ground nearby.
