The gun sits outside the National Army Museum next to Royal Hospital Road in Chelsea, London.

The plaques, adjacent to the gun, read:

"68pdr Smooth Bore Iron Gun
of 95cwt, 1858

The 68 Pdr was normally used only on fixed mountings for coastal defence. However during
the siege of Sebastopol several were used, manned by naval ratings. Their heavier shot was
thought to be more effective against the fomidable Russian fortifications.

This gun was made by Walker and Co. of Gospel Oak, Staffordshire who took over from
Samuel Walker and Co. in about 1820. They used the original firm's machinery and kept the
same mark, WCo on the trunions.

Generously donated by the Royal Artillery Historical Trust NAM 1998-09-18".

The second plaque, on the opposite side of the carriage, has the same inscription.
