Large stainless steel sculpture of an umbrella by sculptor Russell J. Beck. The umbrella is precisely placed that it acts as a sundial with marks on the bricks below indicating the time. Below the sculpture of thousands of dedicated brick pavers. The sculpture was unveiled for the summer solstice in 2000 as part of a millenium project to enhance the downtown area of Invercargill.
