In Needham, on the corner of a bank building currently occupied by Needham Bank.

The plaque is located on the east wall of a brick building at the corner of Great Plain Avenue and Eaton Square, on the wall of the bank that was later a branch of BayBank and is now an addition to Needham Bank (formerly Needham Cooperative Bank). The plaque is about 6 ft above the ground.

The plaque states the following:

"On this site on February 2, 1934 Officer Forbes A. McLeod was killed while in performance of his duty"

Two web sites have information about the incident. On this day, three men, Irving Millen, Murton Millen, and Abraham Faber robbed the Needham Trust Company at this location. The robbers were already experienced. Though they had only started in fall of 1934, their totals had already reached over $90,000 and 4 dead. On this day, Officer McLeod answered to the alarm at the bank. The robbers, who had taken hostages, shot him while on the way out. They also killed officer Frank Haddock who was at the Needham Heights fire station chatting with the firemen there, about 2 miles north of the bank. The car was found as wreckage in Norwood. Long story short is that three men were eventually caught, tried and hanged.
