The gateway arch to America's 20th Century Veterans' Memorial
[visit link] is adorned with two bronze bald eagles and a dove sitting on a globe. The memorial was designed by architect Robert Hinde, Jr and completed in 2005. A dedication plaque on the arch gives the mission statement "To build a permanent memorial monument dedicated to and honoring the military men and women of the United States of America who honorably served their country in times of war and peace."
