Located in the northeast corner of Springfield's Forest Park, these dinosaur prints are seen on a long rectangular outcrop of shale surrounded by a gate. There is no information on the City of Springfield's Parks Dept. website about the prints. A plaque at the site indicates that the prints are from the late Triassic Period over 150 million years ago. The plaque indicates that the outcrop was brought here in 1932 from a quarry in Holyoke, Massachusetts about 2 1/2 miles away.
