This memorial to World War I veterans is part of a multi-war memorial on the grounds of the Hawkins County Courthouse. There is an eternal flame and a time capsule as part of the memorial.

To the west of the Hawkins County Courthouse there is a bricked plaza leading up to this memorial. There is a central eternal flame with flat memorial stones in a semi-circle around it. There are landscaped flowers and shrubs along the sides. Other war veterans honored here are those for WWII, Korean War and the Vietnam War.
