The entry at the English Heritage
website [visit
link] tells us, briefly:
"2 parish boundary stones. C17/C18.
Portland stone. To left inscribed with an anchor (St Clement Danes), to right
"WSD" (St Dunstan-in-the-West)."
The inscriptions, on the stones, have
weathered over the centuries and are becoming difficult to decipher. The stern
stone, on the right in the photos, displays a "W" over "S D". The stone to the
west has suffered more than the one next to it. The cross, at the top of the
anchor, can clearly be seen but the shank fades as it goes lower down the stone.
The anchor flukes could possibly be just above the area where the stone has
broken.
