"bus stop for eat", that is how the large sign (in gallery) advertising this stopping point was translated for me. This "bus stop" lies south of Bankgok, ~400kms. A convenient stopping point, 5 or 6 hours after leaving the metropolis of Bangkok, for a pit-stop for the long distance traveller heading into southern Thailand.
The station is used by a large variety of bus companies, and is busy 24/7 (as they say). I have passed through here on all hours of the day and night, and I can attest that it is invariably busy. The building consists of a large central enclosed area, where restaurants and shops abound, surrounded by a roofed, open area, with smaller eateries and smaller shops. Any manner of food and drink can be purchased here, plus items ranging from the utilitarian to the most trivial of tourist trinkets. "VIP" passengers have a (non-vegetarian) meal included with there ticket.
Most buses pass through, heading either south of north, but there is a single ticket counter tucked away here. There station lies a little to the north of the provincial capital, in an undeveloped (hence cheap land) area.
