This beach is located on the west side of Old US Highway 101 from the northern edge of Solana Beach north to the San Elijo Lagoon outlet in Cardiff-by-the-Sea, California.

This is a gently sloping, fairly narrow, sandy beach with warm water. It offers swimming, surfing and beachcombing. The beach has restrooms and a large paid parking lot, plus there is free parking all along the west side of the highway with direct access to the beach. Off the north end of the beach is Cardiff Reef which creates world-class surfing conditions.
