The community of Peers, which was established in 1911. The town is located 8 kilometres north of the Yellowhead Highway (TransCanada highway north), or 35 kilometres northeast of Edson.

Gold Dust Daze includes activities for the children, a raft race on the McLeod River, a canoe race, chainsaw carvers, gymkhana (an equestrian event that consists of a speed pattern of racing and timed events for riders on horses), slow pitch, horseshoes, mounted shooting competitions, and anything else that embodies the pioneer spirit of the community.
