Invercargill 150th Anniversary Commemorative Sculpture
1856 - 2006

'Confluence'

Russell J. Beck, designer

Stainless Steel   Crown Sheetmetal Ltd, fabricator

The perforated disc is an ancient concept.  The perimeter symbolises the confines of Invercargill.  The channels represent the many people and ethnic groups who have lived here during the last 150 years, flowing into the central portal, confluence, combining the past and furture.

An Invercargill City Council sesquicentennial project generously sponsored by the H W Richardson Group Ltd.
