This aviary is located on the second floor of the Great Lakes Aquarium, a nice addition of live water fowl to enhance learning more about the Lake Superior region. The screened in area is about 60 feet long and has two exits with signs warning visitors to be careful of birds which may be near the doors. The setting has been created to house the birds in their natural looking habitat of Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore and the Kakagon Slough, both on the south shore of Lake Superior. The birds included in the aviary are Goldeneye Ducks, Wood Ducks, Black Crowned Night Heron, Green Heron, Crow, Red Winged Blackbird; a number of turtles are also included.
