After the first 3 miles, the remainder of the 22-mile Pinkham Canyon Trail is within Joshua Tree National Park. It ends at Pinto Basin Road near the Cottonwood Visitors Center and Cottonwood Campground. It can be muddy or have lots of loose sand, depending on the recent weather. There are a few rocky areas but nothing drastic. A National Park Entrance Permit is required within Joshua Tree N.P.
Motorcycles and quads must have an approved spark arrester and muffler.
This is a Limited Use Area meaning that motorized use is restricted to a specific designated road and trail network to protect sensitive natural and cultural resources. Camping must be within 100 feet of the designated road.
