Stirling Falls is a popular falls on the many scenic boat tours on Milford Sound which is the only convenient way to view the falls. The falls enters directly into the Sound allowing boats to put their bows under the falls and its spray. The horsetail falls is 151 meters (495 feet) tall dropping from a hanging valley between Elephant Mountain and the Lion Mountain.
