Downey Dog Park
10107 Flowers Ave.
Orlando, FL 32825
(407) 249-6195

Directions: Located at the intersection of E. Colonial Dr. and Dean Rd. Parking and the entrance to the dog park are located on E. Colonial Dr.

This is not my favorite dog park, although it is a well-maintained park and is convenient to get to. It is attached to the 47 acre Downey Park, but dogs are not allowed inside the main park. The surface is mostly dirt, there is a decent amount of shade from mostly scrub oaks, and there are many benches and picnic tables for sitting (humans, of course). The proximity to busy Highway 50 is rather annoying because of the traffic noise, and the configuration of the park is long and narrow, but at least it gives you a place to take your dog for some safe off-leash exercise. There is a nice watering station for the dogs, and poop-bag stations are generously placed throughout the park.
Orange County's dog owners now have a place to let their pets run around leash-free. In addition to the large fenced-in play area, Downey Dog Park has a play area for small dogs, a time out area, water fountains and poop stations.

For dog owners, these parks mean a healthier lifestyle for their furry friends. Such parks provide a place to exercise and socialize, which means happy, well-behaved canines. They also provide pet owners with a place to share information about vets, boarding, training and simply the joys of pet ownership.
