This wat is located in the centre of Phitsanulok City, on the Nan River. It is in a line of temples, and is noted for having a important and beautiful golden image of the Buddha in the ordination hall. This is named: Phra Nang Phaya. The temple was built by the Thai King of Ayutthaya Phra Borom Trai Lokanot (1431-1448 CE). At the rear of the ordination hall are two small original stupas. Entry to the temple is unrestricted, though a donation of 20 baht (~50c) is the thing to do.
