The ship's bell of the USS TEXAS, now a museum ship, sits amidships near where the public first steps on her teak decks.
The TEXAS (BB 35) is the last of the "Dreadnoughts", the former flagship of the US Atlantic Fleet in WWII (1944), the last battleship to serve in both WWI and WWI (1948), and the first battleship to have anti-aircraft guns installed (1916). She is also the first battleship to be listed on the National Register of Historic Places (1976) and a National Mechanical Engineering Landmark (1975).
Not that we're bragging, of course . . . LOL!
