It may not look like much, but if Mission College catches fire, or Great America goes up in flames, this is the first responder.

It's a simple two-engine firehouse with single-story living quarters next door, in what is otherwise a light industrial section of Santa Clara North of 101. Intel Corp is barely a block away.


There are working-class neighborhoods tucked in odd corners of the service area, as well as more than a few trailer parks. These fellows most likely have their hands full.
