The memorial is at a small park in downtown Morro Bay. The memorial consists of a large anchor. On one side is a marble plate inscribe with the names of men lost at sea (there is still space for other men. On another side are facts about the anchor - "7,000 lbs, made in 1830, found in Niagara River, Buffalo, NY 1960" Another marble circle is on one said and it reads: "This wonderful memorial gives comfort to the living and honors the dead."
