Lom Sak is one of the district capitals of the Phetchabun province of northern Thailand. The town and the province date back to the 13th century, the founding of the Sukhothai Kingdom. There are ~150,000 people in the district, and maybe 20,000 in the town. The town has the basic amenities, and is a fairly busy place. The local economy is based upon agriculture.
On the western side of the town is a government precinct. Here is the local police HQ, a law court, and the city hall. The building follows the usual style, a large, rectangular, white building. Inside, the usual bevy of civil servants managing the lives of the local citizens.
