This iron cross is placed after the 2nd World War by Twen Mordant, resident of Eperheide. Twen Mordant served in the war as a soldier and was stationed in Veere, Zeeland. It was a very difficult time, especially for him to leave behind his large family.
In gratitude they survived the war he placed this cross in the Bovenstebos.
